Patient Resources

An employee assistance program is an employee benefit program that assists employees with personal problems and/or work-related problems that may impact their job performance, mental and/or physical health, and emotional well-being.

Vail Health and Eagle Valley Behavioral Health (EVBH) have launched a new Behavioral Health Employee Assistance Program (EAP) called Mountain Strong. Employees and their dependents are eligible to receive six free behavioral health sessions per incident per year with a dynamic and robust team of highly qualified and experienced behavioral health specialists under contract with the Mountain Strong program.

Mountain Strong is strictly confidential. Your name is not reported to your employer and records are kept separate from medical or personnel records. The EAP is bound by the strictest legal and ethical guidelines and cannot release any information without your written permission. Please note that state and federal laws mandate that in cases of child abuse, elderly abuse, or where a person may be a threat to his or someone else's safety, the therapist must notify the proper authorities.

Recognizing that financial barriers are one of the primary reasons that people in Eagle County do not seek treatment for behavioral health conditions, Eagle Valley Behavioral Health has created Olivia’s Fund. This scholarship program provides financial assistance to those that do not have commercial insurance coverage,  who lives or works in Eagle County, and faces a financial barrier to seeking mental health and/or substance use services. Anyone under the age of 18 are eligible to receive services regardless of insurance status.  Eligible patients can receive up to six free behavioral health or substance use sessions per person per year.

If you are participating in the Mountain Strong EAP program please contact your employer for the total number of incidents you are eligible for. When you have exhausted your EAP benefits, please contact your employer to learn more about what behavioral health services are covered by your health insurance plan.

If you are participating in the Olivia's Fund Scholarship your costs are covered up to 6 behavioral health sessions per year.

A dependent is any child, disabled adult or spouse covered by your health insurance plan. Children must be under the age of 26 to be eligible as a dependent.

If your employer is participating in the Mountain Strong EAP program, your dependents are eligible and can be managed under your secure employee account profile. You can add multiple dependents to your account and manage their sessions and assigned providers through your Mountain Strong Patient Dashboard.

Yes! If your employer is participating in the Mountain Strong EAP program, and you have dependents who live out of state, please reach out to Eagle Valley Behavioral Health at eaglevalleybh@vailhealth.org and we can work to connect your dependent with a provider located in their area. We can also provide a list of in-network clinicians who offer telehealth services.

Provider Resources

If you are a licensed provider, the first step is to register as a provider here. Once you have registered, you will be asked to complete the onboarding application and upload all necessary documentation. A Mountain Strong Behavioral Health Provider must be credentialed by EVBH prior to contract execution. The submission of a provider application does not guarantee that EVBH will accept the provider in the EAP network. In preparation for the onboarding process, you must be prepared to complete and submit the following:

  • Copy of current CV/Resume with schools attended and dates of degree earned
  • Proof of current Registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA)
  • Verified copy of your state license with active and expiration dates
  • Proof of current Professional Liability Insurance Certificate of Coverage, including effective and expiration dates, policy number, limits, and the names of individuals covered. Please include Mountain Strong as a named additional insured on the policy.
  • W-9 form; identify formal name filed with IRS for Tax Identification Number and submit with your signature. Please know that Mountain Strong will make all payments in accordance with the name listed on the W-9.
  • Current Federal Drug Enforcement Agency Registration (If applicable).
  • State Issued Controlled Substance License (if applicable).
  • Copy of Board or Professional Certification (if applicable).
  • Copy of ECFMG Certificate, if you attended a foreign medical school.
  • Authorization to complete a criminal background check.
  • Any explanatory statements needed for positive responses on the Confidential Questionnaire.

Once the application is submitted, you will be contacted regarding next steps by a member of the Mountain Strong EAP team.

Once you accept a patient in the Mountain Strong system, you must log each session based on the date services are provided. Each session logged in the system will initiate an invoice based on the hourly rate approved in your contract. The billing system will batch invoices once every two weeks for all logged sessions in the system and checks will be mailed to providers for all services provided and logged in the system each two week payment cycle. Providers can track logged sessions and see past invoices in the Provider Dashboard.

When a patient requests your services in the system, you will be notified to login to your secure Provider Dashboard and review the patient request. You can contact the patient to learn more about their needs and accept or decline the patient in the system. If you accept the patient, this patient will be listed in your active patient management tab. This will enable you to log sessions for billing, review patient history, and more. If you decline the patient, the patient will be notified and will be asked to select another provider in the network.

There are three (3) core agreements, two (2) of which you can accept or decline within the Mountain Strong EAP. All agreements pay providers the same hourly rate and all billing is administered by Mountain Strong.

  1. Mountain Strong EAP Service Providers Agreement - this agreement is mandatory for provider participation.
  2. Continuity of Case Single Case Agreement - This agreement is optional and enables providers to offer a continuation of care through Anthem insurance.
  3. Olivia’s Fund Scholarship Agreement - This agreement is optional and enables providers to receive payment through the Olivia’s Fund Scholarship program.

If you see the “Access Restricted” message on your dashboard, this means that your onboarding application still needs attention, or that you have submitted your application but it is still under review. To determine your status, you can select the “Manage Profile” button from your dashboard to view your personal onboarding profile and application. If you see any red highlighted titles above the tabs, select those areas highlighted in red to complete any missing information. Once completed, be sure to click the “submit” button on your application again.

Absolutely! Once you are logged in to your account, go to your provider dashboard and select the “Manage Profile” button to update, change or remove information from your profile at any time.
